Memory alloy belongs to shape memory material.
Shape memory alloys (SMA) are made of more than two kinds of metal elements, which have shape memory effect (SME) through thermoelasticity, martensitic transformation and their inversion. Shape memory alloy is the best shape memory material.
So far, more than 50 kinds of alloys with shape memory effect have been found. There are many successful examples in the application of aerospace.
The huge antenna on the satellite can be made of memory alloy. Before launching the artificial satellite, fold up the parabolic antenna and put it into the satellite body. After the rocket lifts off and sends the artificial satellite to the predetermined orbit, it only needs to heat up. The folded satellite antenna will expand naturally because of its "memory" function and recover the paraboloid shape.
